A Very Burton Arizona 2012

We headed out to Arizona last week for some Burton family time and for Chad's little sister Amy's graduation. With only 4 days together (and 2 days of driving), we sure packed a whole lot into our visit. Here are some highlights we captured on film.

the little ones riding the train at the train park
the bigger ones too!
aren't they cute?
Sakura and Braelynn were such good buddies
there was also a carousel at the train park

We also went to a pool/water park after naps. That was day 1. Day 2 was Amy's graduation. The adults went to the Mesa temple and did family names before heading to ASU for commencement. Amy graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. Way to go Amy!
waiting for Amy's name to be called.
Congrats Amy!
celebrating afterwards with dinner at Famous Dave's

While everyone else took a breather from 2 full days of activity, Chad, Kent and Amy hiked Camelback Mtn. Then they needed a break! It was a pretty good down day for the kids. Then we headed to Amy and Greg's house for dinner, got a babysitter and went out for some fun without having to tend to little ones at the science museum. (Aren't we nerds?)

the water exhibit was tons of fun and hard to move away from
measures brain wave activity. the winner can blank their mind. I won! not sure is that's a good thing or not...
there we are!

Chad practicing brain surgery - be glad he's an Internist! ;)
The forces of nature exhibit was neat. You got to experience rain, wind, heat, etc as it went through things like hurricanes, volcanoes, earthquakes and other such devastating forces of nature.

Our last day was little Brooke's 1st birthday party! She drew quite the crowd! After the party, we went back to Amy and Greg's and put the kids to bed while we watched a movie.
birthday dress!
Carly setting up for the party
excited little girls
Mommy found a cool place to relax and put her feet up during the party - all by herself too. ;)
playing Super Nintendo! Seth wanted in on it too
Yum yum cupcakes!
I don't know who caught this expression, but we've dubbed it Seth's "Mater Smile" He does it all the time.

All of us together after the party

We left early the next morning from Amy's house (Seth woke up at 5am, so VERY early!) I'm glad we could make the trip, and I'm glad Seth screamed a whole lot less on the way home than he did on the way out! Sakura is ready to go back again to play with her cousins, but I think Seth would rather wait on that one - or at least fly! I know Chad was especially glad to hang out with so much of his family all at once. Yay for the Burtons!
