Amy's Wedding

Sakura and I went to Arizona last week for Amy and Greg Spencer's Wedding. What an incredible vacation this was!!

I was pretty worried Sakura would be completely tired of me by about 2 hours into flying, but we actually did pretty well together. We got in a lot of quality Daddy-Daughter time. I think I'd like to make it a tradition to take each of the kids of a small vacation every year so I get quality time getting close to each of my kids. We landed in Phoenix, rented our car, and made our way to Kent and Carly's place. We had a lot of fun just chatting and messing around. I even got in a game of chess with Kent, with the usual outcome (he won). My Mom flew in the day prior, and my Dad drove in with his new wife D'Lynn, and Grandpa Burton was with them. We are fortunate enough to have Grandpa Burton as a temple sealer, so he performed the ceremony for Lanae, then myself, then Kent, and now Amy. 4/4. That's pretty special! Their air conditioning broke all the way back in Las Vegas, so they showed up to AZ drenched in sweat. We felt pretty bad for them. The next day things went smoothly. It was special to now have all 6 of our family members in the temple together for the first time. Amy always watched the nieces and nephews when we got married, because she was too young to come to the temple.

The ceremony went very well. They seem so happy together. We all took naps after the wedding, and then met up for the reception that night. I've never seen the church that decked out for a wedding. They really decorated the building nicely. Amy asked me to dance with her on the 2nd song, which was very special to me. They left after the next song for their honeymoon. We then headed for the place Lanae and Jared rented for 1 week. We stayed there 3 days. We arrived the night of Amy's reception, so by the time we got there it was late, which was all the better. We got a view of the stars that's not usually visible because of the city lights. And we were far from any city in this location. As you can see from the pictures, the place was very beautiful, and we are grateful to Lanae and Jared for finding such a sweet spot to lay low for a few days. We mostly swam in the pool, relaxed, chatted about life and future plans. It was such a great visit. We love and miss all of you, can't wait 'till our next reunion, perhaps around this time next year :)
