Learning and Growing

Sakura is learning so many things so quickly, and it's not always intentional. Take yesterday for example. She likes to lead the music at church. In sacrament when the conductor gets up and the music starts, Sakura waves her arm around like she was leading the music. It was also our first day in primary (I've been called as the primary secretary) and she was dancing to the primary songs - I never thought of "Scripture Power" as a rockin' song, but... And if I say a prayer loudly and slowly and simply, like a child, Sakura will say amen at the end (well, it's sounds more like uh-neh, but I can tell what she's trying to say). I didn't teach her any of those things, and yet she still picked it all up from just paying attention. She still doesn't really talk, but she's still picking things up - she's learning her numbers and sometimes remembers 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, but largely ignores 3, 4, and 5 and still doesn't care about 1, though I have certainly tried. She likes to be tickled and if I crook my finger at her she will sometimes say"tika tika" just like Mommy does. She had the cutest little laugh that is so infectious. We were at the park on Saturday and when we put her in a swing, she just giggled up a storm, She had all the other kids and moms smiling.
Surprisingly enough, Sakura is small. With how big she started off, she has certainly slowed considerably. She is the smallest of the kids her age at church - yesterday we were even given some clothes for her that her little peer has outgrown but that fit Sakura very well. She is a little daredevil though - nothing seems to intimidate her - excapt mommy leaving. She likes to climb onto the back of the couch, crawl along until she's in the middle, swing her legs over and jump onto the seat cushion. She thinks it's the best thing ever to do that and get mommy's heart pumping. She has quite a little arm and can throw a golf ball halfway down the hall. She wants Happy to go get it like she does for mommy, but she is out of luck so far. She can climb up on the coffee table and back down without any help now, but she is testing her limits and likes it when I hold her hands so she can jump off instead of climb down. She will also scoot to edge and hang her legs over. She'll be jumping off herself in no time at all. She's a little camera ham and we have lots of pictures of her, but it's hard to load to the site unless it's in the middle of the night.
Being her mom is not easy in the least, but it sure is neat. :)

She sounds adorable. She and Andrei would get along really well. He had all of the same interests at that age- hanging out with mom, throwing things, climbing things, and jumping off of things! She sure is at a fun age, isn't she? And such a pretty little girl, too!
